From award-winning author and former Gannett/USA Today and Fox Sports Ohio journalist Steph West comes her football drama Clean Break.

In this coming-of-age football drama set in the Appalachian region of Ohio, Marcus Knight is an exceptional player who intends to use his talent to get him to college and become a doctor to bring much-needed medical services to the area. But when tragedy strikes, Marcus goes down the wrong path.

Clean Break is inspired by a series of stories West has written during her journalism career.

West is a lifelong sports fan. She played sports, coached sports, and covered sports. She’s also bled a few times on the ball fields after her brother’s pitches missed her catcher’s glove. West spent several seasons covering men’s and women’s athletic teams across high school, college, and pro sports.
